The sand at Inverloch doesn’t belong to Inverloch. Ancient shells ground down to powder nobody asked for. Each tide redeals the same cards, erasing footprints of people who thought they’d made an impression.

I photographed it from above. Without permission from the sand or the phosphorescent organisms putting on light shows for an audience of crabs. Now it’s dry-mounted to 5mm acid-free foam using archival adhesive, housed in hand-sanded Victorian Ash shadowbox frames. 310gsm Cotton Rag prints made with Epson Ultra-chrome Pro inks on a P20070. Protected by museum-grade plexiglass.
Technical specificity nobody asked for but everyone paying attention appreciates. The beach remembers everything and nothing. My frame makes it permanent.
